Hi,

I am using AmbiBox in the latest version on Windows 8 x64 MCE with Lightpack. Everything is running smoothly and I am loving it.
However - everytime I start Windows Media Center (Fullscreen) - AmbiBox freezes and I have to force close it.

Is this a known bug? I am glad to help you out in any way possible! Thanks!

Run Windows Media Center Fullscreen Windowed mode, if run Windows Media Center Fullscreen Exclusive mode - need install and use PlayClaw capture.

 XBMC -> System-> Video output-> Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen = enabled.

Thank you - got it! If it was for me, I would rather use XMBC, but given that I am using a CableCard Tuner for LiveTV (InfiniTV 4) makes it hard for me to use anything other than WMC.

Still - changing the capture mode to PlayClaw somehow crashes AmiBox - anything else there I am missing?

Try to use MediaPortal (www.team-mediaportal.com) it's work with any TV-tunners (analog, cabble, IPTV) and AmbiBox work fine with it in windows 8 mode without any freez (in my HTPC i have a AMD Athlon BE-2300 CPU 1.9GHz and all work fine)

great job with this tool. i like it but i do have a problem using the build in zone wizard. none of my changes are saved.
before i am able to click to apply, i get this error message in the picture. thanks!

Hi,

For anyone interested, there is a new version of the script/addon for XBMC available (WINDOWS only). It adds some options for displaying a menu of your current AmbiBox profiles at the time a video starts playing for you to pick from or attempting to pick a profile based upon the video files reported display aspect ratio.

There is a PDF with instructions in the zip file. This is NOT simply a plug and play setup. You will still need to configure your profiles in the windows application and to use the automatic switching based on aspect ratio, you will need to edit an XML file. Details, again, are in the PDF.

Please post back here with issues.

Hello there,

I recently received my Lightpack and I tried to use AmbiBox with it (since Lightpack's Prismatik Software is still very buggy and very slow). However, AmbiBox is unable to detect the Lightpack it seems. It always just says "Lightpack: not connected" in the bottom left (and "Device status: not connected" within the settings). I am using Windows 7 x64. Is there anything I can do, so that AmbiBox is able to connect to the Lightpack device?

Your ambibox looks very promising ! I would like to use it with a raspberry+Hyperion which supports a boblight server. Do you plan to support Boblight protocol over IP ? That would be a great feature ! Otherwise is it possible to have access to the sourcecode to develop it ?
